Geographic Information Systems (GIS) allows us to view, understand, question, interpret, and visualize data in many ways that reveal relationships, patterns, and trends in the form of maps, reports and charts. MCAG has been the lead agency for GIS throughout Merced County since 1987.
MCAG builds, collects and utilizes various environmental, natural, agricultural, planning and other information to perform analysis and make custom maps. MCAG maintains a GIS website for downloading PDFs of standard maps as well as an interactive GIS Maps Online tool that allows the public access to much of the GIS data.
As the affiliate of the State Data Center for Merced County, Merced County Association of Governments (MCAG) maintains and distributes information primarily from the Census Bureau and the California Department of Finance.
