CALTRANS TO BEGIN PAVEMENT REHABILITATION PROJECT ON STATE ROUTE 140 IN CITY OF MERCED
MERCED COUNTY – Caltrans is preparing to begin a pavement repair and rehabilitation project that will improve approximately two lane miles of State Route 140 from Cypress Way to East Santa Fe Avenue, just east of State Route 99 in the city of Merced.
In addition to rehabilitating the roadway, over 40 sidewalk curb ramps will also be upgraded to provide improved access and mobility for pedestrian traffic.
This project is scheduled to begin the week of June 21-June 25, 2021, (weather permitting) with completion expected in September 2021. Work is scheduled to occur mostly during the day with some night-time work, Sundays through Thursdays, and will require one-way traffic control through the construction area. Caltrans will have flaggers and changeable message signs alerting motorists of the lane closures and potential delays, estimated at 10 minutes.
This estimated $1.25 million construction project will be performed by Vanguard Construction, Inc. of Livermore, CA.
Schedules are subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment and/or materials and construction related issues.
